By registering, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the following Louisville Voice Lessons (LVL) policies:
After the trial lesson, regular lessons are scheduled by the session. Each session has 7 lessons and a recital or performance class at the end of each session. Sessions are generally two months long and it is expected that students will take at least two months of lessons. Please read emails for changes to the schedule. Sessions do continue into the summer.
Monthly fees are the same each month, depending on lesson length, and fees are due in full on the first lesson of the month. Students not paid in full may not participate in the recital or performance class. Payments should be made via Venmo. (Please ask about checks if Venmo is not an option.)
Payments after the first lesson of the month will be fined a fee of $20. Bills that are more than two months in arrears will be sent to collections.
Family and friends may attend the recital at no cost. Students are not required to participate in the recital or performance class, however there will not be refunds or additional lessons for recital or performance class non-attendance for any reason.
One parent/guardian may accompany children to performance classes. LVL is not responsible for children left unattended before or after the scheduled lesson, class or recital. We are not responsible for the safety of children who are unaccompanied when traveling to and from our location.
Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance of the lesson. Cancellations not made before 24 hours will not be made up and the full charge of the lesson will be due. Please cancel via text AND email. LVL cannot guarantee more than two makeup lessons per year. Excused absences will be rescheduled on one of two makeup days that will happen in January and July.
If you know ahead of time that you will be on vacation on certain dates, let us know as soon as possible. The sooner we know, the more likely it is that we will be able to accommodate your vacation and schedule makeup lessons. (Tip: If you know you will be going to an amusement park, prom, or any event that will make your voice exhausted, and you know you will have a lesson the following day, this would be a good lesson to try and reschedule well ahead of time.)
We are very tightly scheduled and have many people waiting for a trial lesson. If you do not provide adequate time (24 hours) for us to schedule another person in your slot, not only do we lose this income, but we also are paying for childcare, therefore, you will not receive a makeup or refund.
The Student WILL NOT come to their lesson if they are sick. Not only are sick students subjecting other students to illness, they are also subjecting the instructor to illness; as teaching and singing is our livelihood, we cannot risk getting sick. Last-minute cancellations for illness will be deemed excused at the discretion of the instructor. Excessive cancelations for sickness will be seen as an abuse of this policy. If you are granted an excused absence by your instructor for a sick day, you may reschedule these lessons on one of two makeup days that will happen in January and July.
If JCPS is closed due to weather (excluding summer) our studios will also be closed. Otherwise, the studio does not cancel for weather unless notifications are sent by us. These “snow days” will be made up on specific dates in January and July.
SUSPENSION OF LESSON
Students/parents agree to notify LVL in writing (email firstname.lastname@example.org) two weeks prior to suspending lessons. The student will be financially responsible for all lessons during the 14-day termination period, without exception. If the student wishes to cease attending lessons immediately, they are still financially responsible for the following two-weeks tuition, and payment must be rendered immediately. Refusal to adhere to this policy will result in the accrual of additional late fees and referral to a collection agency.
Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. There is a waiting area for parents and guests outside of each studio where you can view and hear your child. Lessons are scheduled tightly so please be on time.
