Helping singer of all ages find their true, authentic voice and self through artistic and technical study, Jasmine Davis joins Louisville Voice Lessons with a love of teaching classical, musical theater, jazz and country/folk. She grew up singing country and bluegrass music before being trained classically. She also plays the fiddle (bluegrass style) and loves spending time outside hiking, camping and gardening. She has 3 sweet cats named Liza, Sam and Otis and an equally sweet chocolate Lab named Rosie. She delights in cooking and taking care of a growing number of houseplants and teaching singers!

She has a Master of Music and a Psychology Minor, regularly attends the Northwest Institute of Voice Certification Studies and has sung as an apprentice artist with Kentucky Opera and Songfest. Students love her holistic approach to singing and life, which propels her to ever continuing her education in performance psychology, Alexander Technique, Intuitive Healing, vocology, yoga, pilates, meditation and nutrition.

A versatile musician, she has sung background vocals and played fiddle for the Kentucky Opry and has also been a Jazz Vocalist for the MSA Jazz Orchestra. She has performed numerous leading operatic roles including Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, Yadwiga in Ben Moore’s premiere of Enemies, A Love Story, Beatrice in Berlioz’s Beatrice et Benedict, Mrs. Ford in Merry Wives of Windsor, Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Mabel in Pirates of Penzance. She is also adept in oratorio, having sung as the Soprano Soloists for the Lord Nelson Mass by Haydn, Cantata 51 by Bach, Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang, and Handel’s Israel in Egypt. She was a semi-finalist for the prestigious Orpheus Vocal Competition and was featured in lecture recital singing in The Salons of Barbara Strozzi by Fanny Mendelssohn.

Jasmine feels equally able to teach all styles of singing including folk, jazz, pop, rock, musical theatre, classical, singer/songwriter, gospel, soul and R&B. She has extensive collegiate teaching experience, starting as a teaching assistant at the University of Louisville and graduation on to her thriving private studios at Belmont University, Trevecca Nazarene University, and Indiana University Southeast. Her students have acquired numerous awards and recognition as finalists and semi-finalists in the National Association of Singing Competitions, Nashville Shakespeare Apprenticeships, Nashville Opera Chorus members, admission to world-renowned undergraduate and graduate music/voice schools, roles in off-broadway music theatre productions, and admissions into various prestigious summer vocal programs. She is a member of NATS and alumni of Sigma Alpha Iota.

Louisville Voice Lessons is so pleased that Jasmine has returned to Louisville while her partner begins his law practice. We are so fortunate to have such a gifted teacher, singer, and musician join the LVL team!
