REGISTER FOR A LESSON

By registering, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the following Louisville Voice Lessons and VoiceLessonsOnline.org policies:

SCHEDULE

After the trial lesson, regular lessons are scheduled by the session. Each session, which is two months long, has 7 lessons. It is expected that students will take at least two months of lessons. Please read emails for changes to the schedule. Sessions do continue into the summer. If a student starts a session, they are expected to complete the session, and give at least two week’s notice when pausing or ending lessons.

PAYMENTS

Monthly fees are the same each month, depending on lesson length, and fees are due in full on the first lesson of the month. Payments should be made via Zelle. (Please ask about checks if Zelle is not an option.)

LATE PAYMENTS

Payments after the first lesson of the month will be fined a fee of $20. Bills that are more than two months in arrears will be sent to collections.

COVID-19

Students that are healthy and not exhibiting symptoms nor testing positive, and have not been recently knowingly exposed to Covid-19, do not need to be masked during in-person lessons, but are free to wear a mask.

For students enrolled in in-person lessons classes, students and parents/guardians agree that the enrolled student will be, honest and forthcoming about any and all present COVID-19 symptoms and/or exposures, or any other contagious illnesses, and will fully comply with any and all safety precautions and protocols required or recommended by the CDC or Louisville Voice Lessons, including but not limited to wearing appropriate, well-fitting and high quality masks, maintaining social distance or staying home (virtual lesson or reschedule). Students and teachers agree to follow ALL current CDC and Health Department instructions for the duration of their illness. Anyone attending classes or recitals also agrees to these terms.

For students enrolled in in-person classes, students and parents/guardians agree that they are aware of the existence of the risk of COVID-19 and participation in any in-person classes/lessons may cause injury or illness such as, but not limited to Influenza, RSV, Flu, MRSA, COVID-19 or other contagious viruses.

With full knowledge of the risks involved, students/parents/guardians hereby release, waive, discharge Louisville Voice Lessons and their teachers from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, directly or indirectly arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death, that may be sustained by me or my enrolled student related to COVID-19 while participating in any activity while in, on, or around the premises or while using the facilities that may lead to unintentional exposure or harm due to COVID-19.

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Louisville Voice Lessons and their teachers from and against any and all costs, expenses, damages, lawsuits, and/or liabilities or claims arising whether directly or indirectly from or related to any and all claims made by or against any of the released party due to injury, loss, or death from or related to COVID-19 arising from my or my enrolled student's participation in any LVL activity.

BATHROOMS

Louisville Voice Lessons is a series of in-home studios. Bathrooms may not be easily accessible from the studios and may require entering a different area of the home. Students MUST be prepared to wear a mask when using an alternate entrance, and only after ringing the doorbell and being invited inside. Casual entry of the home area is not permitted. Please use the restroom elsewhere and BEFORE attending lessons, whenever possible, to avoid loss of lesson time. Please do not enter the home area without permission, nor open the door between the student side of the studio and the teacher side of the studio. This door is for emergency use only, and is an important part of the LVL mitigation strategy.

CANCELLATIONS

We are offering the following options to help you have the most value from your investment in Louisville Voice Lessons in the event that you need to cancel a lesson:

“Remote Lessons” or “Online Lessons” by Zoom. Online lessons can happen worldwide. You need not live in the Louisville area. We will send you complete instructions for how to have successful online lessons with us! If you live in the area and are sick, or if there is inclement weather, but would still like a lesson, a Remote Lesson is a great option. However, air is not shared between the instructor’s studios and there student studios. Please be mindful that you will briefly need to pass by one other student. We will plan Remote Lesson during your regular time, or possibly during the school/work day if you are home sick. Please notify us immediately and before your lesson time so that we can help you set up and prepare for your Remote Lesson. Remote Lessons are also an option in case of a school or community quarantine recommendation as well. We will make it a priority to stay safe and continue with our usual activities. Have sheet music ready to go and two devices - one for Zoom, and one to play your accompaniment. Please log in 5 minutes before your lesson and we will send you a Zoom ink at your lesson time.

TYPES OF CANCELATIONS AND OUR CORRESPONDING  MAKEUP POLICIES:

  • “Planned” = Before 48 hours - LVL will reschedule these

louisvillevoicelessons@gmail.com - Garrett & Elizabeth’s Studios

STUDIO CLOSINGS

Please check your emails for closings. LVL may choose to close for weather or other events/vacations. Remote/online lessons may be recommended, depending on the situation at hand.

FOOD AND DRINK

No food or drink other than water is allowed in the studios. Non-nut hard candies are usually available as a lozenge in the studios.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY

It is the responsibility of the student to bring their music and a notebook to each lesson, and to bring music within a time frame that it can be adequetly prepared. We use digital music in lessons, but please ask the teacher if you need a legal copy. It is the student’s responsibility to know the requirements for upcoming auditions for musicals, KMEA, competitions and recitals. LVL can make recommendations for repertoire based on the requirements or rules for any upcoming events, but the student must be responsible for knowing and relating those guidelines. LVL cannot submit students for KMEA Solo and Ensemble nor do we have access to their instructions and rules, but we do help students to prepare for this and numerous other events, auditions and competitions. Rules to various auditions and competitions change each year, so please be ready to do your own research and relay the requirements to your private teacher.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND PHOTOS

LVL frequently gives shout-outs to currently-enrolled students for their vocal or dramatic accomplishments. Students/parents agree to let LVL know in writing if they do not want to be mentioned on social media, and agree not to be in studio group pictures if they do not want to be shown.

We also proudly give shout-outs and congrats to LVL alumni on social media as well. Students become alumni of LVL if they have consistently taken lessons up until they move or leave for college. Alumni are responsible for keeping us up to date via texts - AND WE HOPE YOU DO! We are proud of our current students and alumni!!

SUSPENSION OF LESSON

Students/parents agree to notify LVL in writing (email louisvillevoicelessons@gmail.com) two weeks prior to suspending lessons. The student will be financially responsible for all lessons during the 14-day termination period, without exception. If the student wishes to cease attending lessons immediately, they are still financially responsible for the following two-weeks tuition, and payment must be rendered immediately. Refusal to adhere to this policy will result in the accrual of additional late fees and referral to a collection agency.

LIABILITY

Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian that is in the vicinity of the studio. One parent or guardian may attend the first trial lesson, but after that time, when live lessons occur, only the student is allowed in the lesson. Students are strongly encouraged to audio or video record each lesson. Lessons are scheduled tightly so please be on time. (Exceptions will be made for special needs students that require an assistant.)

Registrants (parents/guardians/students that register on our website for lessons, or their accompanying guests/parents/children) expressly assumes all risk and legal liability and wave and release all claims for injuries, damages, or loss sustained while participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with this program.
